Topps made a design change during production of this set in 1969.  The first series is borderless and with the second series they added a border.  When looking at cards from the first series, you can notice that player photos are cropped near the edges where a border would be.  Perhaps this was an error that was corrected with the second series.  Four players are pictured in the old uniforms in this set and Cowboy Joe makes his final appearance.

Card backs in this set were horizontal and included a cartoon illustration with a fun fact about the player featured.  One card, however, required a coin rub to reveal the cartoon.
