Fleer issued standard card-sized cloth sticker patches for five years starting in 1972. After that, they started including glossy stickers in packs of Fleer Team Action cards, and did so with every set until 1988.

Fleer included two stickers per card for all the cloth patches, mixing teams but staying consistant with the same pairing of teams throughout the run. They also didn't bother changing the copyright date until dropping it all together in 1975, so all the stickers produced up until then have the copyright date of 1972 printed on them.

The 1976 Fleer Team Action cards were actually stickers, and that was the only set in the 12 year run that was produced that way. That set of stickers is among the toughest of any issue, cards or stickers, to obtain.

Each of the 12 years that Fleer produced their set of NFL action cards, they inlcuded two team stickers - a logo and a helmet version. The stickers are identical in appearance from 1977-79, and the only way to tell them apart are the backs.
