Bob Lilly, DT from Texas Christian University, was the 1st draft pick ever the Dallas Cowboys, and oh what a pick it was. Lilly played 14 years for the Cowboys and was a All-Pro for 11 of those years. Bob Lilly was the anchor for the original 'Doomsday Defense'. One of the most competitive players of his time, Lilly led the Cowboys to the pinnacle of the NFL with a Super Bowl title in 1971. Bob Lilly was the first player to be enshrined in the Ring of Honor at Texas Stadium upon his retirement in 1975, and was elected to the Pro Football Hall of Fame on the 1st ballot in 1980. Lilly was selected to the 75th Anniversary All-NFL team in 1994. Bob was simply the best player at his position during his tenure as a NFL player, and was rightfully known as Mr. Cowboy.
